This winter, FIGMENT Boston is collaborating with the Rose Kennedy Greenway to light up the Chinatown Park in new and creative ways!  FIGMENT Lights is a part of Winter Lights on the Greenway, a series of lighting displays and innovative art installations intended to bring warmth and cheer to Boston’s ribbon of contemporary parks over the long winter nights.
Five FIGMENT art pieces will delight and inspire visitors from January through March.  The first piece, Lumieres by William Turville, will feature three large light-up fish sculptures to coincide with the annual Chinese New Year Flower Market from January 19-22.  Four additional pieces will be placed over the coming weeks.
To celebrate the event, FIGMENT and the Greenway will host musical performances and dance at a special FIGMENT Lights launch party in Chinatown Park on Thursday, February 9 at 6PM.  The party will move indoors to the nearby Good Life Bar from 6:30 to 8:30. Please join us for Chinese New Year or the launch party, or simply stop by Chinatown Park anytime January 19th – March 21st to see FIGMENT lights!
For more information about the five pieces that make up FIGMENT Lights, see the descriptions below.  Connect with FIGMENT Boston on Facebook or Twitter and stay tuned for the call for art for FIGMENT Boston’s event June 2-3, 2012 on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
